ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION

All students participate in our End of Year Concert and students work on these routines each week in class, developing their skills in the process and learning the importance of rehearsal, commitment, performance techniques and teamwork.

In terms of attendance, it is very important that students do not miss any of their scheduled classes between now and concert time so they can spend their rehearsal time together to perform their routines, feel confident and look amazing. Of course, this is only if it can’t be helped and in line with studio guidelines. If for any reason your child will miss a number of their regular classes in Term 4, we ask that you contact reception to let us know in advance.

If there is any reason why your child will not be able to perform at the concert on the dates and times provided, please let us know so we can make amendments to the class routines involving them.

CONCERT FEE

A concert fee of $95.00 for the first student in a family will be payable, this is reduced to $75 per sibling. This is due on the 20th Oct. Students who have not paid their concert fee will be unable to perform in the concert.

Please note: Costume fee of $85 per class is also required. Concert fee includes a custom JDQ Studios Garment Bag, Concert tee, full video of the concert and covers the venue, lighting, sound, staffing etc.

REHEARSAL DAY

8th Nov at 4pm

At JDQ Studios we know that for the majority of our dancers concert is the only time they will have been on stage with an audience in a large auditorium, and for some of our dancers this is their first time on stage. We want them to feel comfortable and ready to be the most amazing they can be which is why we hold an on stage dress rehearsal. We also understand that the end of year is a busy time for families and this is why we have condensed everything into one dress rehearsal day. We also have listened to your feedback that holding this rehearsal on concert day was to much for our dancers.

Students need to do the following for dress rehearsal:

Arrive at 3:30pm at Cooloola Christian College with all costumes in their garment bag, with all required shoes and stockings.

Wear Dance undergarments that would be worn on concert day (see further information detailed later in "what to wear")

NO makeup is required, hair is to be neatly tied back off the face similar to class times.

Students will receive their Commemorative 'Rewind' Tshirts handed out at dress rehearsal.

CONCERT DAY PROCEDURES

Students in Chairs dressing room or quickchange to please enter via the back door only. Please do not enter the hall itself. Students will need to know what allocated group they are in. See the CONCERT GROUPS button below this has been updated since dress rehearsal.

All students will need to be picked up from the same location as drop off after the show. Students will stay in this location and need to have their name marked off by their group leader.

At intermission the door to dressing room one and two will be staffed. Students who are only in the first half of the show may be collected by a family member at this time.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us. We will ensure that we talk you through the concert day procedure again in the weeks leading up to the concert.

SECURITY & STUDENT SAFETY

To help with student organisation and safety, all students will be put into an allocated 'group’. Please see the "show specific info" on this site and make sure your child knows what group they are in.

All backstage helpers will be issued with security passes that are required to be worn at all times. Only JDQ Studios staff and registered parent helpers are permitted backstage. We are unable to run messages or food to students, so please make sure they have everything before they come backstage for rehearsal and the recital/concert. There will be a someone at the door for the entire day checking passes. We do this to protect the students, please respect this policy. Please try not to bring anything valuable, especially electronic devices. Mobile phones are not to be taken backstage or in the changing areas during the concert.
